Taco More (Mexican)

Since opening in 2019, Taco More has been sharing authentic Mexican cuisine with Austin, driven by the passion and care of owner Maria Garcia Perez. Growing up in a restaurant family in Mexico, Maria always loved cooking and connecting with people. Her nickname as a child, “Morena,” inspired the restaurant’s name, a personal touch that reflects the warmth and personality behind every dish.

Maria runs the restaurant alongside her three children, who help continue the family tradition even while pursuing their own careers. The menu features traditional Mexican dishes made with 100% authentic Mexican ingredients and seasonings, with cabrito (roasted goat kid) standing out as a customer favorite. But what truly sets Taco More apart is the love and attention given to every guest. Maria says, “We invite you to discover and try our dishes, which we make every day with love and respect.”

Community is at the heart of Taco More. Maria remembers the incredible support she received from neighbors when the restaurant first opened, and over time, the family has expanded to other locations across Austin. Son Jonathan recalls helping his mother as a child, opening drinks for customers and learning the joy of sharing good food with others—a memory he cherishes to this day.

Looking ahead, Taco More plans to continue serving the Austin community with the same care, while introducing fresh menu items and a little remodeling to enhance the experience. For Maria and her family, Taco More isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a way to celebrate Mexican culture, connect with the community, and share a meal made with heart.
